WARM SPRINGS — In response to the COVID-19 public health threat, beginning today, only the Bath County District and Circuit courts will be open to the public until further notice.

The six-foot recommended separation distance will be enforced.  Only the front entrance of the courthouse is accessible to the public.

All other county offices, including Parks and Recreation and the animal shelter are closed to the public.

Essential staff will remain at their posts as possible, but will be conducting business by phone, internet and mail.

If you unable to make a payment by Internet or phone, please contact the county treasurer or the service authority by phone.

“We ask that all residents continue to take this public health threat very seriously,” County Administrator Ashton Harrison said.

A local emergency was declared in Bath County last Monday.

That declaration was ratified by the Bath County Board of Supervisors during  the beginning of a budget work session held on Thursday.
